From times of personal crisis to moments of national grief, we are always here — providing support, safety, community, and opportunity.****About the Role**We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Intake case worker to join our Central Intake Service (CIS) team in the ACT. This pivotal role supports the Program Manager through the day-to-day supervision and practice oversight of a dedicated team of Intake Case Workers.In addition to supporting operational and practice excellence, you’ll also provide short-term case support to community members with complex needs—drawing on the Shared Practice Framework and coordinated referral pathways to ensure holistic, effective service delivery.**How you will make an impact*** Provide operational leadership to Intake Case Workers, ensuring alignment with the **Model of Care** and **Practice Guidelines**.* Supervise and support the performance and development of team members, including coaching on complex cases and identifying training needs.* Collaborate with the Program Manager and Practice Specialist to monitor and improve the quality of casework practice.* Engage with local community organisations, ACT Government departments (including CSD and ACT Police), and co-located service providers to ensure a coordinated and integrated response.* Assist with recruitment, induction, training, and performance management processes.* Help resolve client concerns and de-escalate high-conflict situations using trauma-informed and crisis communication approaches.* Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with TSA systems and policies (e.g., SAMIS, payroll, time tracking).* Promote continuous improvement and service delivery excellence through collaboration and innovation.**What you will bring*** A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or a related Human Services discipline.* Significant experience in the community services sector, including team management and supervision.* Demonstrated experience working with individuals experiencing trauma, complex needs, or chronic disadvantage.* Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.* Commitment to trauma-informed, person-centred, and culturally responsive practice.**What We Offer*** Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free + $2,650 meal entertainment benefit.* Generous Paid Parental leave for primary (12 weeks) & secondary carers, Purchased Leave Scheme (up to 8 weeks) and 5 days paid leave per year to experience working in other TSA programs or activities.* Sorry Business and Ceremonial leave (up to 10 days)* Becoming part of our Burra Burra Network – a pastoral care network whereregular group and topic-specific yarning circles are hosted to bring an awareness of thesupport andopportunitiesavailable* Access to EAP and health & wellness initiatives incl Fitness Passport* Ongoing training and development opportunities that enhance on the job skills and proficiency.* Rewarding and fulfilling purpose driven careers that have positive and sustainable / social impacts.**How to Apply**If you are ready to lead with purpose and help make a lasting difference in the ACT community, we want to hear from you.Apply now with your resume and a cover letter addressing the key selection criteria.***The Salvation Army is an Equal Opportunity Employer who provides an inclusive work environment and embraces the diverse talent of its people.*** ***We value people of all cultures, languages, capacities, sexual orientations, gender identities and/or expressions.
