AWS has an immediate opening in Sydney, Australia for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Data Center Finance team in Asia-Pacific. In this role you will work with regional AWS leadership to lead financial controllership of AWS Data Center Community and improve financial performance. The Data Center Finance team is part of the Asia-Pacific Infrastructure team, providing end-to-end financial support to design, build, operate and innovate our Cloud data centers. You should be passionate about producing financial analysis enabling management to make breakthrough decisions, drive cash flow, and delight customers.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the key business partner working directly with AWS senior management and internal stakeholders to provide financial recommendations.
- Drive cost savings by identifying opportunities and benchmarking across vendors and locales.
- Collaborate across teams on cost savings projects, automation and improvement initiatives with finance, construction, IT and design.
- Conduct regular face-to-face and virtual meetings in the Asia-Pacific region to support business partners and drive efficiencies.
- Manage the financial planning and analysis effort and forecast metrics for financial risks and opportunities.
- Report on financial performance and lead the preparation of weekly, monthly and annual financial reviews.
- Develop ad hoc business analysis and present recommendations to AWS senior management.
- Monitor compliance with controls and systems, and develop current processes and controls to support the fast-growing AWS business.
Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience creating process improvements with automation and analysis.
- 4+ years of experience identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field, or MBA with 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience.
- Business partnering experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or CPA.
- Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
- Experience identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes.
- Ability to work well with cross-functional teams; comfortable with ambiguity and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
