Orthoptist Role
An Orthoptist is required to work in a busy small practice in Melbourne.
Clinic Specialties include:
1. Cataract assessment and treatment
2. Glaucoma Management
3. Medical Retina
4. Paediatrics and Strabismus
5. General Ophthalmology
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. General ophthalmic assessments including history taking, subjective refraction, vertometry, IOP(Icare) measurement
2. Ocular motility and binocular vision assessment of both children and adults
3. OCT (Spectralis)
4. Humphrey Visual Field Testing (HFA3)
5. Biometry (IOL Master 700)
6. Optos Fundus Photography
7. Setting up and assisting with minor surgical procedures including intravitreal injections
8. Some administration duties including surgical preparation and drafting correspondence
9. Answering patient enquiries
Key Requirements:
* An Orthoptics qualification
* Professional Indemnity Insurance
* Registration with the Australian Orthoptic Board (AOB)
* Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
* Effective time management, priority management and problem solving skills
* Demonstrated written, verbal and interpersonal skills
* Experience in ocular motility and paediatric vision assessment will be highly regarded; however an interest and willingness to learn these skills will certainly be taken into consideration as we are happy to teach
