You will be joining our thriving Occupational Therapy team at Westmead Hospital, which is where you'll experience a highly supportive department with a positive team culture. We are a department of approximately 50 clinicians with varied skillsets and knowledge working with acute and rehabilitation patients in inpatient, outpatient and community settings. We are a cohesive team ensuring clinicians at all levels are involved in department development and decision-making processes to better the department and services we provide for our patients. For example, all OTs are involved in department portfolios and quality projects.
Supervision is a priority within our department, and we will establish the appropriate supervisory supports you require to reach your personal and professional goals.

What you'll be doing
We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join WSLHD, delivering high-quality, client-centred services. Your role will focus on assessment, intervention, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
o Providing evidence-based OT services to patients at Westmead Hospital
o Conducting assessments, setting goals, and evaluating treatment plans
o Educating and training patients, families, and carers on therapy and equipment use
o Recommending home modifications and prescribing appropriate equipment
o Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and support students

o Registration : AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist
Selection Criteria :
o Significant post-graduate clinical experience in Occupational Therapy with extensive experience with acute and rehabilitation patients including neurosurgical, oncology, general medical and surgical.
o Extensive experience in complex discharge planning (including NDIS and ENABLE).
o Ability to work both independently with minimum direct clinical supervision and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
o Experience in supervision of professional staff.
o Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills, and time management / organisational skills.
o Demonstrated willingness to uphold NSW Health CORE Values.
o Demonstrated self-directed learning & interest in research and quality activities.
