What is the Role?
The Assistant Store Manager is a dynamic retail leadership position where your expertise and leadership will support the Store Manager in driving store performance, fostering a customer-centric culture, and uplifting team capability.
You will lead by example, ensuring every customer feels inspired. You will support team development, implement strategies to maximize sales and performance, and bring our store vision to life through operational excellence and service leadership, all while demonstrating Early Settler Values.
This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract Role for Parental Leave Cover.
Key Responsibilities:
* Partner with Store Manager to drive sales performance and achieve targets through effective merchandise selling
* Assist customers in realizing their home vision with styling solutions and recommendations, upselling, and cross-selling based on customer needs
* Coach and guide the retail team to meet targets and deliver exceptional service
* Support daily store operations, including rostering, financial management, administrative tasks, recruiting, and onboarding
* Develop and implement strategies to maximize sales and customer service targets

* Proven experience in retail sales with a track record of achieving targets

* Ability to coach, guide, and motivate teams
* Resourceful with a can-do attitude and problem-solving skills
* Ability to balance customer care, team development, and administrative tasks
* Interest in home-styling, furniture, or creating welcoming spaces is a plus!

* Ability to undertake lifting and work in a physical environment, as required in a furniture store
