Our client is a vertically integrated mining and civil contractor delivering full-service operations across WA’s iron ore sector. With a growing mobile fleet at their Pilbara operation, they are seeking an experienced Drill Fitter to support the servicing and maintenance of open-pit production drills in a busy, well-equipped site workshop.
About the Role:
As a site-based Drill Fitter, you will play a key role in ensuring the availability and reliability of blast hole drill rigs used in daily production.
Equipment includes:
- Terex / Reedrill SKSS blast hole drills
- Additional support across heavy plant equipment if required
Key responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on blast hole drill rigs
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical faults
- Conduct component change-outs and drill rig rebuilds as required
- Work closely with the maintenance team to minimise downtime
- Maintain accurate service records and defect reports
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with site standards
What We’re Looking For:
- Australian-recognised Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Mobile Plant Technician trade qualification
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working on open-pit blast hole drills
- Hands-on experience with Terex/Reedrill SKSS and/or CAT MD6310 drill rigs – Essential
- Solid hydraulic, electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Able to pass full pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening
- Available for FIFO mobilisation from Perth
