Looking for your next WHS leadership challenge?

Step into a role where strategy drives meaningful change.

An exciting opportunity exists to shape the Corporate Services function of the newly formed Department.

We are looking for passionate and dynamic individuals to position Corporate Services as a strategic enabler and a driver of departmental priorities including organisational performance, capability, culture and governance.

As a member of the department, you will help support the development of Western Australia's resources sector, which oversees resource development and improved environmental outcomes for mining, petroleum and exploration for the benefit of WA and future generations.

Our people will be provided with a range of benefits, including flexible work arrangements, working at home, in the field or in the office, training and development opportunities, and ongoing support to enable you to achieve outcomes for our community.

We value diversity and appreciate every individual's perspective, bringing together a diverse and inclusive workforce to drive innovation and success.

The role

As Manager Work Health and Safety, you will play a critical leadership role in providing strategic guidance to a multidisciplinary team responsible for managing, delivering, and continuously enhancing the department's work health, safety, and wellbeing framework.

Your effectiveness in this role will be grounded in your extensive experience in leading, influencing, and driving a WHS strategy that actively engages workers and managers, fostering a positive safety culture and supporting organisational cultural change within a large, complex, multidisciplinary environment.

Substantial knowledge and experience in leading a WHS function will be essential, including the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of safety management systems, programmes, policies, processes, and wellbeing initiatives to ensure legislative compliance and promote a strong safety culture.

In addition, demonstrated expertise in providing high-level advice, strategic direction, and risk management guidance will be crucial to the successful achievement of outcomes in this role.
