OUR STORY
The Central Land Council (CLC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976. The CLC represents traditional landowners, native title holders and other Aboriginal people in the southern half of the Northern Territory—an area of almost 780,000 square kilometres.
The CLC provides its constituents with advice, advocacy and practical assistance to support their aspirations, manage their land and realise and protect their rights.

LM028 – Threat Abatement Officer
CL 5 – CL 6 (Starting $83,685 progressing to $103,828)
FIXED TERM UNTIL JUNE 2026
This position is externally funded under the federally-funded MacDonnell Ranges Priority Places project to:
* reduce the numbers of feral cats to protect populations of the Central Rock Rat and
* engage traditional owners on approaches to horse ownership and feral herbivore, fire and weed management, to support improvements to biodiversity.
The role will work with traditional owners and the Northern Territory government to plan and implement operations to survey and support populations of the Central Rock Rat and manage populations of feral cats and horses in the West MacDonnell Ranges bioregion. It will support traditional owner groups in planning and decision making with regard to feral herbivore control along with operational support for control measures.

Annual progression within the salary scale is subject to satisfactory performance. Progression is in accordance with annual increments set out in an enterprise agreement.
