About the Role
Beacon are seeking a Mine Geologist to join our Geology team. This is a permanent position working a 8/6 Roster (8 days on, 6 days off) on 12hr shifts.
The positions are offered to DIDO (Kalgoorlie/Coolgardie Residential) or FIFO ex Perth applicants.
Key Duties
* Competently organise and run the Geological activities required by the Open Pit Mining Operations.
* Ore mark out and ore extraction to minimise dilution and maximise recovery.
* Ore Spotting, along with training and supervision of Graduates conducting Ore Spotting.
* Ensure accurate geological logging of grade control and resource definition drillholes and all sampling and associated data management is conducted to the required standard.
* Production and implementation of Dig Blocks, and Ore Extraction Plans.
* Update grade control models and produce dig block designs and associated documentation using Surpac, Leapfrog and Datamine.
* Monitor QA/QC of sampling and assaying and maintain databases in line with JORC requirements.
* Monitor grade and bulk density assumptions with regular check samples.
* Monitor and manage the ROM and Haulage from Open Pit operations.
* Map geological features within the pit and compile maps.
* Maintain a high levels of communication between geological personnel, engineers, surveyors, and mining personnel on site.
* Assist with designing and documenting grade control and near-mine exploration programmes to accurately delineate the ore body ahead of mining.
* Assist with the creation of, and appropriate execution of mining plans.
* Assist in compilation of pit closure reports.
* Assist with EOM reporting, and other Operations based reporting.
* Promote a safe, healthy, and productive work environment.
* Fulfil other duties as required by management and other department personnel as requested/required.

Essential Criteria
* At least 18 months of Geology experience, preferably within a Production Role.
* Degree in Geology.
* Skills in Geological Mapping.
* Experience in QAQC.
* Experience on orogenic gold deposits, preferably within the Eastern Goldfields.
* Exposure to mining software packages, preferably Surpac and Leapfrog.
* A high competency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Access.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work unsupervised and use initiative.
* Ability to engage with the geology team.
* Ability to work respectfully with others to achieve project goals.
* Right to work in Australia.
* Manual C class license.
