As part of Centacare, we deliver early education and care and outside school hours care services across Southeast Queensland. Our purpose is to create safe, nurturing and inclusive environments where children can thrive, and this role plays a key part in strengthening the capability, confidence and experience of the people who make that possible across a large, geographically dispersed network of services.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a relatively new, highly skilled and energetic Learning and Organisational Development team. The team has been through a strong build phase, with several programs now moving into maintenance and continuous improvement. You will have the perfect blend of creation, implementation and management, with real scope to make your mark.

About the Role Reporting to the General Manager, People and Culture, you will lead a specialist team and partner with leaders across CEEC to deliver practical, engaging and impactful learning, leadership, culture and organisational development solutions across our 135+ early education and care services.

You will not just manage training activities. You will shape the professional growth, leadership capability and employee experience of the people who care for our future generations.

Leadership development:

Embed CEEC’s leadership development program and support the design and development of an emerging leaders’ program.

Onboarding and induction:

Elevate existing onboarding and induction programs so new starters feel connected, confident and set up for success.

Compliance and capability uplift:

Refresh and revitalise annual mandatory training to make it engaging, practical and focused on knowledge retention across a distributed workforce.

Professional development:

Create and manage a suite of professional development opportunities, including leadership days and targeted capability‑building programs.

People experience:

Support initiatives such as employee survey frameworks, reward and recognition, health and wellbeing, and connection activities.

Culture and organisational development:

Lead and contribute to culture, change and inclusion initiatives, including RAP and DEIB priorities, with a strong focus on connection across remote and multi‑site teams.

Digital learning and insights:

Manage LMS capability and use workforce, learning and performance insights to inform planning and continuous improvement.

Event management:

Take responsibility for the end‑of‑year conference.

About You You are a genuine people leader who inspires, uplifts and gets the best from your team. You are confident partnering with senior leaders, practical in your approach and energised by the opportunity to build capability, culture and connection across a complex, geographically dispersed organisation.

Experience leading Organisational Development, Learning and Development or capability programs in a large, complex and geographically dispersed workforce, ideally within an organisation of approximately 1,000-2,000 employees.

Background in multi‑site service environments such as hospitality, retail, NDIS/disability services, education or care, where building a consistent culture and capability across remote locations is essential.

Strong capability in organisational development, culture, learning needs analysis, program design, facilitation and evaluation.

Experience designing and delivering leadership development, onboarding, induction and compliance training programs that work effectively across multiple remote worksites.

Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, influencing and project management skills, with an understanding of the challenges of educating and engaging geographically dispersed teams.

Experience leading a team, ideally a newly formed or evolving team, and managing external providers, resources and priorities.

Relevant qualifications in Human Resources, Organisational Development, Education or a related field.

Experience in early childhood education, education, care, community services, hospitality, retail or NDIS/disability services would be highly regarded.
