We are seeking an experienced Pit & Pipe Civil Operator to join our civil construction team on a full-time basis.

This is a hands‐on role suited to a capable and self‐sufficient operator who can take ownership of site-based works, work independently, and ensure jobs are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification.

A key focus of this role is the ability to take responsibility on site and keep works progressing without constant supervision. The successful applicant will play an important part in reducing day‐to‐day reliance on the business owner being present on site, helping ensure projects run smoothly and efficiently from start to finish.

This is not a labouring role. We are looking for someone with strong civil experience who is confident reading plans, operating plant, and making practical on‐site decisions within scope.

About the role

You will be responsible for:

• Installation of underground pit and pipe systems
• Excavator operation on civil construction sites
• Reading and working to site plans and drawings
• Coordinating and progressing day‐to‐day site works
• Ensuring works are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently
• Maintaining site momentum without constant supervision

Must have

• Excavator ticket (essential)
• White Card (Construction Induction)
• Ability to read and interpret site plans confidently
• Solid civil construction experience (pit & pipe)
• Strong understanding of site safety requirements (SWMS, inductions, etc.)
• Ability to work independently and take charge of site tasks
• Strong communication skills
• Proactive, can‐do attitude with ability to take ownership of outcomes
• Reliable, punctual, and strong work ethic
• Current driver's licence
