Senior Project Manager
Location: Ipswich
The Sizewell C (SZC) project requires a Senior Project Manager to join the Civil Works Alliance in driving the delivery of the Enabling and Earthworks function.
Delivery will be reliant on innovative engineering, construction, and strong leadership qualities amongst Senior Project Managers.
The role is to provide leadership for effective Enabling works scope delivery as part of the overarching Civils Programme of SZC, while recognising and managing programme impacts on the wider project.
The Senior Project Manager role develops strategy for delivering Enabling works scope to cost, schedule, and quality within agreed constraints.
Key Responsibilities
* Define work scope to be delivered within contract or package of work and interfaces to other programme elements.
* Secure required resources to meet project requirements, ensuring SQEP for assigned resources and promptly identifying personnel shortfalls or issues within project team.
* Develop and execute effective execution strategies and plans in line with Programme Execution Plan (PEP), outlining how programme of work will be managed, organised, and executed.
* Maintain effective communications with all stakeholders and execute project or PEP strategies within contract or package of work.
* Anticipate, manage, and resolve issues within contact or package. Identify risks and facilitate resolution of all issues raised, develop and update programme budget, and escalate any issues.
* Drive delivery of contract or package activities to ensure they are delivered safely on time, to budget, meeting business and technical requirements.
* Interface with other programmes to ensure high-level view of total project progression and identify adoption of best practice.
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all project team members.
Required Skills & Experience
* Track record of delivering projects within technically complex and dynamic environment, ensuring high levels of safety, security, and environmental responsibility, preferably within Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated environment.
* Demonstrated success in managing/developing Engineering design, contract and field execution strategies for project delivery.
* Experience of successfully engaging groups of stakeholders.
* Experience of managing contractors, consultants, and other advisors throughout large and complex construction projects, in a regulated environment, including NEC contracts.
* Great communication and organisational skills, able to develop relationships and maintain effective networks.
* Knowledge and/or practitioner of Project Management with experience of applying APM body of knowledge and OGC's Prince 2.
* Degree and chartered status in an engineering, construction, physics, or related field preferred.
