We are seeking a highly ambitious Assistant Accountant to join our finance team, with a primary focus on our eBenefits revenue stream. This is an international role balancing accounting with high-impact stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
* Manage full-cycle Accounts Receivable for the Earned Wage Access (EWA) product, from initial reporting and reconciliation to active collections.
* Allocate approximately 50% of time to AR management, including proactive collections for global clients.
* Serve as a primary contact for international client inquiries related to Heropoints, EWA, and general account queries; communicate with stakeholders in the UK timezone.
* Support day-to-day eBenefits accounting, including reconciliations, journals, accruals, with exposure to inter-company and FX transactions.
* Audit and validate commission payouts across the sales team and partner network; ensure commission integrity.
* Collaborate with the eBenefits Product, Support and Finance teams; assist in inter-department processes to standardise accounting and drive efficiencies with AI where applicable.
* Leverage AI-driven accounting tools to streamline high-volume transactions and enable focus on strategic analysis and problem-solving.
* Run day-to-day accounts, maintain compliance, and juggle priorities to meet deadlines.
* Assist in external audits and support cross-functional product, engineering, and finance teams.
* Own and resolve client queries via internal platforms (Employment Hero and Zendesk) and document all processes.
* Audit and validate revenue-related payouts and ensure timely submissions and payments; ensure accuracy of sales commission payouts.
Qualifications
* At least 2 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
* Currently studying for CPA or CA qualification, or have completed it.
* Relevant degree in finance/accounting.
* Experience with NetSuite, Periscope, Tableau, FloQast is advantageous.
* Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
* Strong attention to detail, planning and organisational skills, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-growing environment.
* Analytical skills to interpret financial data and forecast trends; strong communication and presentation abilities; ability to work autonomously.
* Proactive interest in AI and fintech automation; eager to explore how technology can improve accuracy and speed.
