**The Company**
Our client is an industry leader in the construction industry based in the northside of Brisbane. They are currently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to assist them through a busy period. **This is a 3 month contract role.**
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accounts Payable Officer will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies, and contributing to the effective management of resources.
**The Role**
This **3-month contract** for an Accounts Payable Officer would be ideal for an **immediately available** Accounting and Finance professional who loves to interact with people and want to take the first step in their accounting career.
Your responsibilities will include
- Managing financial transactions and end to end Accounts Payable duties.
- Manually input invoices in the system.
- Verify and accurately post all payments to the correct invoice/s.
- Reconciliation of accounts payable ledger, bank accounts, foreign currency payments, etc.
- Support the month-end process.
- Report on Aged Payables plus other ad-hoc reporting where applicable.
- Assisting with the audit process and implementing recommendations for improvements
- Contributing to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures
- Supporting the Finance team in ad hoc projects and tasks as required
**About You**:
- Experience in a high volume & fast-paced environment.
- Tertiary education in Accounting and Finance
- 1 year experience within an Accounts Payable role.
- Friendly and outgoing personality.
- Great attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software programs
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
