The role of the **Extrusion Operator** is to produce pipe within the required physical specification while running the extruder and down stream equipment to ensure the pipe is packed to the required standards and specifications.
Our client manufactures and supplies a broad range of advance pipe systems and solutions for building, infrastructure, irrigation, rural, mining, and industrial (Gas & Electricity) industries.
We are looking for someone who is mechanically minded, quick thinking and hard working to join the team. Hitting the ground running you will have previous experience within manufacturing and use of an extruder and similar machinery working on a process production line.
Working on a 7 day a week fortnight, Shifts will be 12 hours working Monday - Sunday.
**Day to day duties will include but not limited to**:
- Setting up and preparing the extruder machinery
- Running of the production line from start to finish
- Checking machinery levels and settings of the extrusion line to make sure they meet the specification sheet and report on any needed data
- Operate extrusion line that produces a pipe to required quality specifications, including branding
- Strap and pack product away for shipping
**You will have**:
- 3 + years working as an Extrusion Operator or in a similar position
- Experience working on a production line within the manufacturing industry
- Forklift Ticket (Counterbalance or High Reach)
- Ability to lift to $20kg (strapping Pipe Packs)
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills
- Demonstrated understanding of safe work practises, manual handling, and workplace procedures
