**Aboriginal Health and Engagement Program**

**About The Role**
Develop, implement, lead and report on the Monash Health Aboriginal Health Promotion Plan. In consultation with the Director Aboriginal Health and Engagement, develop a model of care that provides governance and accountability framework to inform health programs on engaging with the local Aboriginal communities. This will involve the planning, implementation and evaluation of the integrated Aboriginal Health promotion plan in a team environment and working autonomously on individual portfolios of responsibility and/or projects. The Aboriginal Health Promotion Plan involves partnering with key stakeholders and ensuring self-determination, shared decision making, spiritual healing, and greater trust in the healthcare system are central in the strategy. The plan will focus on preventing disease rather than treating illness. The team would partner with the community and Dandenong District Aborigines Cooperative Limited to strengthen existing primary healthcare programs.
