The Lawyer provides high-level, competent, and timely legal advice and representation to the Attorney-General, Director-General, and departmental officers regarding a wide range of legal matters across all areas of DoJ.The Lawyer is supervised by a Principal Lawyer (PO6).Responsibilities include:Providing competent and effective written legal advice and drafting related to departmental activities and contentious issues, often complex and sensitive, which may involve litigation and are under consideration by senior departmental officials.Offering advocacy services in courts and tribunals for appropriate matters referred from departmental units; assisting senior lawyers with complex advocacy; representing LAA or DoJ in internal or external meetings; and building strong relationships with DoJ clients and Crown Law.Note: Applications should remain current for 12 months.Job Ad Reference: QLD/633003/25Closing Date: Friday, 16th May 2025Occupational Group: Justice & Legal
