Manager of Network, Storage and Data Centres

Our client is a market leader in their industry. They are currently looking for a Manager, Network, Storage and Data Centres where you will lead the physical and foundational technologies that underpin enterprise wide operations. Your mission is to ensure the secure, reliable and cost-effective performance of networks, storage environments and data centres, while shaping a modern, automated and future-focused infrastructure vision.

You will lead a high-performing team of approximately 25+ technical specialists supporting their development, elevating capability, and fostering a culture of excellence, innovation and continuous improvement. With significant autonomy, you will provide strategic direction, champion service uplift, and drive alignment with organisational priorities.

This is a people-first leadership role, ideal for someone who combines strong conceptual technical understanding with exceptional coaching, stakeholder engagement and strategic thinking.


In this role, your key responsibilities include:

* Lead, mentor and develop the Network, Storage and Data Centre teams to deliver high-quality, scalable and secure services.
* Build and maintain a high-performing culture, supporting talent attraction, retention and career growth.
* Develop and articulate a forward-looking infrastructure vision aligned with organisational strategy.
* Ensure availability, performance and security across campus networks, storage platforms and data centre environments.
* Oversee architecture, design, implementation and modernisation of WAN, LAN, wireless, segmentation, internet connectivity and monitoring solutions.
* Manage storage platforms including NAS, backup systems, snapshot management and disaster recovery preparedness.
* Drive operational excellence across data centres, including power, cabling, racking, access control, vendor coordination and lifecycle management.
* Champion automation, AI technologies, observability and monitoring to optimise and modernise services.
* Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to forecast future needs and align delivery roadmaps with strategic priorities.
* Build external networks, engage with industry experts and maintain contemporary knowledge of emerging trends.
* Manage vendor relationships and ensure value-for-money service delivery.
* Ensure compliance with standards such as ISO 27001, DISP and relevant critical infrastructure obligations.
* Establish service improvement plans, operational reporting and performance metrics.
* Foster a culture of innovation, excellence, safety and resilience.
* Perform other duties as required.


To be successful, you will need:

* Demonstrated success leading high-performing technical teams in networking, storage and data centre environments.
* Outstanding people leadership capabilities with a strong track record in coaching, mentoring and inspiring teams.
* Proven ability to develop future-focused service visions and lead modernisation initiatives.
* Deep conceptual understanding of networking, wireless, VLANs, VPNs, data centre operations, network security, storage architecture and backup strategies.
* Experience implementing automation and AI-based solutions to uplift capability and efficiency.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
* Strong financial and vendor management skills.
* Understanding of compliance, governance and risk management within complex or critical infrastructure environments.
* Commitment to service excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.
