About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and creative individual with strong technical skills and a keen eye for details to join our talented team of pastry chefs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and bake a wide range of desserts, pastries for the hotel's outlets.
* Collaborate with the Head Pastry Chef to develop and update dessert menus.
* Ensure all pastries and desserts meet quality standards for taste, texture and presentation.
* Work closely with other departments and kitchens to coordinate service and ensure timely delivery of desserts.
* Monitor and manage inventory levels of pastry ingredients.
* Train and oversee junior pastry staff and interns, providing guidance on techniques and workflow.
Requirements:
* Certificate III in Patisserie (or equivalent)
* Recent experience in a pastry kitchen, preferably in hotels.
* Demonstrated in-depth skills and knowledge of kitchen operations
* Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and occupational health and safety standards will be essential.
* A true desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast-paced customer service environment
* Valid work rights in Australia.
