About The Role 
The Belmont Perioperative Unit has a permanent full-time opportunity available for a dedicated and passionate Nurse Unit Manager (NUM). 
The NUM Level 3 coordinates the whole Perioperative Services while providing clinical supervision, support and leadership to the staff to achieve customer focused quality care. 
The Belmont Perioperative Unit is a fast-paced and dynamic unit that caters primarily for day only and overnight stay patients. The unit has four theatres, 9 PACU beds and an 8 chair Day Surgery post-operative area. This position is supported by Clinical NUM 1 and Clinical Nurse Educators who provide support for staff and students. The unit is staffed Monday to Friday with on call after hours and weekends to support Belmont Emergency Cases. 
Our successful candidate will have considerable instrument & circulating nurse experience across multiple specialities, with recent nurse unit manager experience essential. You will have high-level communication and interpersonal skills, and will possess the ability to assess and supervise the professional competence and performance of staff. Experience across the wider service inclusive of anaesthetics, PACU and Day Surgery would be highly advantageous. You will be supported in this position by the Deputy Director of Nursing & Director of Nursing, as well as ongoing support from the CNUM level 1 of the Perioperative Unit. Orientation and supernumerary time will be allocated to ensure your success in this role. 
What You\'ll Be Doing 
The purpose of the Nursing Unit Manager 3 is to manage, lead and organise the nursing and wider multi-disciplinary team to enable safe and productive patient flow throughout the Perioperative Unit. 
Lead and co-ordinate the nursing and multi-disciplinary care team at unit level. 
Monitor and manage the business and management functions and processes of the unit. 
As the leader of the unit, the NUM will demonstrate their capability through attitude, skills, behaviour, and attributes. 
Demonstrate broad perioperative nursing experience and knowledge. 
Understanding and acceptance that patients are the central focus of service delivery. 
Demonstrate professional integrity; ethical conduct, accountability, advocacy, enabling others. 
Cultivation of collaborative relationships and effective teamwork. 
Essential Criteria 
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with Authority to Practice with AHPRA
