The Role
The Solutions Manager will own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of Energy One's solutions portfolio, with an initial and significant focus on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) software offerings. The role is responsible for developing scalable, market-led solutions that optimise revenue, enhance user experience for control and reporting, and support participation in the National Electricity Market. This includes both established energy storage solutions and the design and delivery of bespoke or emerging solutions in response to evolving customer and market needs. The Solutions Manager will work across commercial, technical, and operational domains to ensure Energy One's solutions remain differentiated, extensible, and aligned to the company's long-term product and growth strategy globally.
Job Requirements
Required
* Demonstrated experience working with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and/or complex energy market solutions involving optimisation, trading, or operational decision support.
* Experience owning a product, platform, or solution strategy, including delivery of both standardised and customer-specific solutions.
* Understanding and appreciation of software development methodologies/lifecycles.
* Ability to engage with multiple stakeholders (end users, developers, testers, project managers) to deliver solutions.
* Demonstrated experience in managing direct reports, including setting priorities, overseeing workload, conducting performance reviews, and supporting the professional development of team members.
Desirable
* Experience designing or delivering bespoke software solutions for energy market participants.
* Exposure to emerging energy technologies or new market participation models.
Job Responsibilities
* Lead the strategic direction, planning, and execution of Energy One's solutions portfolio, focussed on our energy storage and BESS software offerings which is a core growth area.
* Develop and maintain solution roadmaps, ensuring alignment with market needs, customer requirements, and organisational priorities across energy storage and other bespoke or emerging solution areas.
* Drive the successful development and implementation of complex, customer-facing solutions, leveraging strong project management and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
* Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including energy traders, energy analysts, procurement teams, engineering, senior management, software developers, testers, and business analysts, to translate operational and commercial needs into scalable software solutions.
* Support the ongoing enhancement and global expansion of Energy One's energy storage solutions, while also contributing to the incubation and delivery of new solution offerings across Energy One's product suite.
* Engage with customers and industry participants to identify opportunities for bespoke solution development, extensions to existing products, or new market use cases.
* Act as a central point of coordination across technical, commercial, and operational teams to ensure solution outcomes meet both customer-specific and platform-level objectives.
* Manage and develop a team of direct reports, providing clear guidance, performance support, and ongoing coaching to ensure high-quality delivery and professional growth across all solution development activities.
