People with no experience are encouraged to apply for these vacancies, however a career pathway/ training program maybe required to complete prior to being put forward for the positions.
All training programs include first aid, CPR, training in Manual Handling and work placement. (Please note that these certificates and placement are not offered individually, only as part of a program)
To be considered for the role you must have or be willing to obtain the following:
Certificate III in Individual Support - Disability
Current National Police Check

A leading and well established Disability facility requires Disability Support Workers (DSW's) to work on a casual basis with the view to permanency. The successful candidates must be versatile and available to work with people with a variety of disabilities.
As a Disability Support Worker your role will include but is certainly not limited to the following:
supporting individual participation in social and recreational activities
undertaking tasks outside the home such as shopping, visiting friends and family
personal care
light domestic duties such as meal preparation and cleaning
manual handling and/or the use of equipment to support mobility (wheelchairs or hoists)
providing companionship and emotional support
transportation
