About the role
The City of Sydney has a global reputation for delivering award winning facilities, protecting and enhancing open space, promoting design excellence, delivering new transport options and championing sustainability.
The Chief Operations Office Division designs and constructs Councils buildings, infrastructure, parks, streetscapes and public domain program, with an annual works program in excess of $100m.
This newly created role presents an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a passion for process improvement and enhancing business operations to design and implement new ways of working and optimise core functions within this business unit.
Reporting directly to the Executive Manager, Project Development and Delivery, the Coordinator will engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including project managers, delivery managers and development managers to prepare and coordinate information for executive and other reports, manage and oversight the full range of governance and administrative practices, and enhance workflows and information sharing across the business unit.
This is a busy and varied role with the opportunity to align competing stakeholder expectations, embed strong governance across the business unit, and deliver effective processes and practices to support successful outcomes against strategic commitments.
We're looking for someone with:
qualifications in project management or extensive experience in a relevant field
excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills including highly developed written and oral communication skills and experience in working with employees at executive and manager level
ability to work in a high-pressure environment, prioritise tasks and achieve strict deadlines with minimum supervision
strong analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills with a focus on simplifying business processes and systems
This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
