Responsibilities
This 12-month fixed term, full-time (80 hours per fortnight with monthly ADO) Occupational Therapist position is based primarily at Caulfield Hospital in the Occupational Therapy Department. The role involves providing high-quality assessment and intervention to sub-acute inpatients, with a focus on: - Maximising functional independence, seating and positioning, and safety - Supporting discharge pathways from hospital to the community, including NDIS - Working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team and contributing to goal setting - Potential involvement in teaching, supervision of junior staff and students, and quality improvement activities - Possibility to support sub-acute inpatient activity across other Alfred Health sites on a periodic basis and weekend service provision as required
Skills And Experience Required
* Demonstrated best practice in patient assessment, intervention and discharge planning
* Demonstrated ability to evaluate and modify service delivery in accordance with evidence-based practice
* Experience in supervision of junior staff and students is highly desirable
Qualifications Required
* B. App Sc (OT), B. Occupational Therapy, MOT prac or recognised equivalent
* Full Registration held with Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
* Member of OT Australia (or eligibility for membership)
* A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in occupational therapy
* Current Victorian Driver's License (unrestricted)
