About the Role:
As a Butcher, you will be an integral part of our store's daily operations. You will work collaboratively with your colleagues to ensure our customers have a positive shopping experience by delivering a range of high quality of meat products for Good Grocer customers ensuring an exceptional customer service experience.
You will be responsible for ensuring that meat products are prepared efficiently and in line with the expectations of the of the Department Manager and Store Manager, while maintaining high standards of food safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the daily meat department production to required standards based on demand.
* Prepare crumbed cuts of meat, marinating, seasoning and curing special cuts.
* Operate machines to grind, mix, mince and tenderise meat.
* Prepare meat for sale by removing bones, trimming fat and cutting, mincing and grinding meat to shape and size for display or as ordered.
* Prepare and display meat products attractively.
* Assist customers with product selections and purchases.
* Develop innovative meat products for retail.
* Mitigate wastage of products.
* Ensure every customer receives an exceptional and memorable shopping experience.
* Ensure strict compliance with all food safety standards, food labelling, workplace health and safety regulations, and company policies.
* Effectively communicate with team members, customers, and the broader Good Grocer Group.
Skills & Experience:
* Qualified Butcher, experience in a similar role for 2 years is preferred.
* Creative approach to produce value-added meat products.
* A comprehensive understanding of food safety standards and the ability to ensure compliance.
* Exceptional customer service skills and a passion for creating a positive shopping environment.
* Strong merchandising skills with the ability to create visually appealing displays.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
