**Position overview**
The Australian National University (ANU) is an outstanding, research-intensive institution currently ranked among the great universities of the world. The ANU Advancement office leads the development, management and coordination of all advancement activities at the ANU. The office supports the University's objectives of deepening relationships with alumni and securing long-term philanthropic income in alignment with the University's strategic priorities as a national institution committed to excellence in research, education and contribution to public policy development.
The Alumni Relations team within Advancement implements strategic mass and individualised alumni engagement programs with alumni and supporters of the University in order to develop and embed a culture of philanthropy (in all its various forms) amongst alumni, staff, students, donors and friends and to increase support for the University's strategic priorities. Within this context, the Office Administrator will provide high-level administrative services to staff in the Alumni Relations team in support of achieving the objectives outlined in the University's overall advancement strategy.
The Office Administrator will work under the direction of the Director, Alumni Relations to support the day-to-day administration of the Alumni Relations team. The position will interact with a range of stakeholders, engaged in fundraising and engagement activities, including alumni, donors and benefactors, students, philanthropic organisations and staff and volunteers. The position is expected to develop networks and relationships within the ANU and external contacts to undertake this role effectively. The role has close contact with high profile and high-value relationships and must exercise discretion diplomacy and a high degree of professionalism in dealing with these individuals and organisations.
