Position: Procurement Manager
Type: Permanent, Full-Time
The Role
We are seeking a Procurement Manager with experience in the procurement of construction materials from overseas suppliers. You will be part of procurement team responsible for the quality, compliance, programming, coordination and logistics of construction materials for our construction projects. The role includes working closely with the project teams and managing the various stakeholders, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with the relevant codes and standards are achieved with a strong focus quality.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Project Planning & Coordination: Develop and manage a detailed procurement management plan and project specific procurement programs understanding the project requirements and milestone dates.
* Design & Material Selections: Liaise with the project teams to source fit for purpose materials and productions that meet Australian Standards and quality expectations. Proactively source alternative options for consideration by the project teams
* Budgeting & Forecasting: Establish budgets with the project teams inline with the Contract cost plan and continue to manage and track costs against the budgets regularly reporting back to the project teams.
* Procurement & Subcontractor Management: Oversee the supplier letting and material procurement process to ensure scope coverage and target budgets are achieved including drafting and negotiating Contracts.
* Quality Control: Develop a robust Quality Assurance Management plan and implement with our chosen supply partners inc. ITPs, checklists and digital platform implementation.
* Logistics & Transport: Manager and coordinate the delivery of overseas construction materials to ensure efficiency is transport achieving the project specific program milestones.
* Stakeholder Communication: Act as the main point of contact between the various suppliers, subcontractors and the project teams. Provide regular updates on progress, risks/issues, and changes to project scope or schedule.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including safety standards, building codes and project specific requirements. Manage the submittal and approval process for authority compliance requirements. Compile the compliance documentation for Certifier sign-off and project handover.
The Successful Candidate Will
* Experience: 2+ years of experience in construction and/or overseas procurement relating to construction with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
* Education: It is preferred that you have a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or comparative Construction diploma.
* Skills:
* Strong knowledge of construction processes and compliance requirements.
* Excellent project management, organizational, and time-management skills.
* Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft project, Jobpac) and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to solve problems quickly and effectively.
* In-depth understanding of safety protocols and regulations in construction.
