ABOUT THE ROLE
This role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact within a dynamic hospitality group, where no two days are the same. You will take ownership of end-to-end HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, training, compliance, and employee engagement, working closely with leaders to support and develop our teams.
As the first point of contact for staff, you will play a key role in fostering a positive and supportive workplace environment. You will also have the opportunity to innovate, streamline processes, and implement practical HR tools that make a real difference.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruitment & Onboarding
* Draft and post job ads, screen candidates, and schedule interviews
* Conduct reference checks, prepare offers, contracts, and onboarding documents
* Manage the onboarding schedule and facilitate monthly induction sessions
* Coordinate new starter setup across systems, payroll, and venues
HR Administration & Compliance
* Maintain accurate employee records, conduct right-to-work checks, and manage licences in Tanda
* Monitor visa expiry dates and ensure compliance with right-to-work documentation
* Track and report on TOIL, leave balances, KPI/bonus data, and compliance metrics
* Ensure adherence to Fair Work, Restaurant Industry Award, and WHS regulations
* Support WorkCover claims and manage return-to-work processes
Employee Support & Communications
* Act as the first point of contact for employee and manager HR inquiries
* Coordinate employee engagement and recognition initiatives
* Assist in delivering staff updates and communications (e.g., via LOKE)
Training & Development
* Maintain training records and coordinate session logistics
* Develop and upload training content into the Ananas platform
* Supervise and support the HR Assistant
Performance & Employee Relations Support
* Maintain PIP and performance review records
* Assist in preparing documentation and logistics for performance and ER matters
* Escalate serious issues appropriately while supporting documentation and processes
Offboarding & Workforce Planning
* Coordinate employee exits, including access removal, equipment return, and final documentation; support knowledge
