As a Business Development professional, you will lead business development initiatives to achieve growth in the Defence sector.
The Opportunity
This role focuses on successfully winning and growing the Estate Works Program in Defence, requiring close relationships with customers and interface points across multiple markets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute business development strategies for estate works and Defence infrastructure programs.
2. Liaise and oversee bid teams to ensure deadlines are met and opportunities progressed to submission with strong probability of success.
3. Prepare professionals and support contract negotiations for allocated key captures when down-selected.
4. Build a well-defined pipeline of opportunities aligned with the Defence strategy.
5. Manage opportunities from initial identification, strategy development, and pursuit management through to tender preparation and contract negotiation.
6. Conduct competitor and market analysis to ensure awareness of changes impacting successful achievement of Defence Strategy and business objectives.
7. Develop marketing strategies and prepare budgets, reports, forecasts, and related information required.
Ideal Attributes:
* Business Development or Operational experience in Defence or Defence-related fields.
* Degree or Diploma in an engineering or related Marketing/Management discipline.
* Highly developed communication skills, strong negotiation, and influencing skills.
* Excellent people management and interpersonal skills.
* Strong systems, operational, financial, resource planning, and reporting skills.
* Must be an Australian Citizen for Defence Clearance purposes.
