The Pharmacy Department at the Rockhampton Hospital manages all medications across the hospital, including the preparation and supply of all inpatient medication on the wards, and prescription and dispensary services for patients visiting the hospital. In addition to dispensary services, our clinical pharmacists also promote the safe and effective use of medication.

About the role:
The Pharmacist will function as part of a team and is responsible for the provision of a broad range of contemporary clinical Pharmacy services to the facilities within the Rockhampton Hospital campus and other facilities throughout the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service, as well as participation in a broad range of Quality Use of Medicines initiatives.
Demonstration of high-level knowledge, skill and expertise will be recognised by experience, professional development, post-graduate education or other formal qualifications and active participation in the SHPA ClinCAT assessment on a regular basis.
Deliver base level clinical pharmacy services (which may include dispensing (inpatient, outpatient, and discharge), requisition, medication reconciliation, drug information, counselling and recommendation) in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards.
About you:
The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in pharmacy and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a pharmacist in Australia (or eligible for registration in Australia). Demonstrated level of knowledge, expertise and skill in pharmacy practice ranging from base level to advance, depending on years of experience. Demonstrated ability to apply established principles to routine pharmacy services. Demonstrated ability, or ability to rapidly acquire the skill, to provide guidance to less experienced staff members and education to students. Ability to initiate, plan and evaluate local service improvement initiatives and provide clinical supervision to subordinate personnel.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $132,567 p.a. is comprised of:
