Located in South Bowenfels, the Lithgow Campus is considered as a comprehensive community health centre supporting approximately 20,000 people living in the town and surrounding areas. The services available in Lithgow hospital include Domiciliary care unit, Emergency department, Geriatric assessment unit, Obstetric services, Paediatric service, Drug and Alcohol unit.

We are offering an exciting opportunity to work in an inpatient setting where you'll provide care to complex patients as part of a collaborative and multidisciplinary team. This role is well supported by a Nurse Unit Manager and Clinical Nurse Educator, giving you the chance to enhance and develop your skills across a variety of career pathways.

As a valued member of our team, you will play a key role in ensuring optimal outcomes for patients, clients, and carers by promoting best practices and appropriately escalating care when needed. You'll work closely with other health professionals, using effective communication to plan, implement, assess, and evaluate patient care. Advocacy is central to this role, especially for patients from Indigenous and multicultural backgrounds, ensuring culturally appropriate and compassionate care during specialised procedures.

What You Will Bring To The Role

* Current registration as Registered Nurse Level 1 with APHRA
* Demonstrated experience and clinical skill in Acute Care Nursing as a registered nurse (including Completion of a new graduate RN program or equivalent experience working as a Registered Nurse)
* Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
* Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide person centred care
* Demonstrated effective communication skills – written and verbal
* Demonstrated commitment to professional development
* Ability to work a flexible roster, day, evening or night shift across all days of the week according to the unit/service requirements
