What You'll Be Doing
South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is committed to improving the care provided to our patients in line with our vision of Working together to improve the health and wellbeing of our community
SESLHD's Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Services (SHBBV) provides leadership, innovation and research in the sector. Services within SHBBV are involved in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of Sexually Transmissible Infections (STIs) and blood borne viruses at an individual and population level within SESLHD, as well as four
statewide services. Across these services, care is provided via fixed locations and outreach networks to a client base of approximately 28,000 individuals. SHBBV has highly skilled and diverse staff including nursing, medical, allied health, health promotion, administrative and technical staff. It is the largest SHBBV service in Australia.
This position will work with the Senior Social Worker to coordinate and implement activities of the Ankali Program and demonstrate clinical expertise and specialised knowledge to support the work of the Ankali Program consistent with NSW Health, SESLHD policies, procedures and standards.
This role includes responsibilities for the supervision of volunteers, support for clients, supporting quality improvement initiatives and assisting with education delivery to other health care colleagues, and students on clinical placement.

* Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award membership with Australian Association of Social Workers and demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional learning.
* Extensive post graduate clinical experience in HIV, hepatitis and sexually transmissible infections or related fields.
* Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels.
* Demonstrated ability to provide high level clinical advice, education and support to others in providing service excellence
* Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.
* Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes.
* Demonstrated active participation in developing, implementing, and reporting on services
* Willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
