American Builds is Canberra's specialist American vehicle workshop. We service, modify, and build RAM, Jeep, Ford, Chevrolet, and Dodge vehicles for an enthusiast customer base across Australia. We are a certified AMW4x4 partner for HEMI engine conversions, an authorised FOX suspension installer, and we run dyno tuning, GVM upgrades, and full custom builds out of our Mitchell workshop. The role
We are looking for a creative who can shoot, cut, and tell the story of our builds, and then put that content in front of the right audience through paid and organic channels. This is a content-first role. Your primary job is to make our big builds famous: HEMI conversions, full FOX kits, custom project vehicles, dyno days, and everything in between. Paid advertising and social media management support that mission.
You will own our digital presence end to end and work closely with the owners and workshop team to capture builds as they happen.
Key responsibilities
Content production (the core of the role)
* Shoot and edit long-form YouTube content: build walkarounds, project vehicle features, behind-the-scenes workshop content, technical explainers
* Produce short-form video for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts: build progress, dyno pulls, install timelapses, before and after reveals
* Photograph completed builds, work in progress, and workshop activity to a professional standard
* Plan a monthly content calendar around active builds and workshop activity
* Write copy for captions, blog posts, video descriptions, and email newsletters
Paid advertising
* Build and manage Google Ads campaigns (Search, Performance Max, YouTube)
* Build and manage Meta Ads campaigns across Facebook and Instagram
* Manage budgets, optimise for cost per qualified lead, and report monthly on performance
Social media and channel management
* Run our Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok channels day to day
* Engage with the community: respond to comments, DMs, and tag-ins
* Maintain a consistent brand voice across all channels
Website and SEO
* Keep americanbuilds.au and americanbuilds.com.au updated with new builds, services, and content
* Publish SEO-focused blog content tied to our service offering
What we need from you
Must have
* Demonstrated video production skills: camera operation, lighting, audio, editing in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve
* Strong photography skills with your own camera kit (or a clear plan for one)
* Hands-on experience running Google Ads and Meta Ads campaigns
* Social media management experience for a brand or business
* Ability to work in a workshop environment (loud, busy, sometimes dirty)
* Excellent written English and a sharp eye for brand consistency
* Australian work rights

* Genuine interest in and experience with American vehicles, performance builds, or the 4x4 and off-road scene. This is a specialist workshop and authentic knowledge of the product translates directly into better content. Candidates who live and breathe this world will be prioritised.
Nice to have
* Experience producing automotive content (workshop, dealership, or enthusiast media)
* Motion graphics and colour grading skills
* Basic web management (WordPress or similar)
* Email marketing platform experience (Mailchimp, Klaviyo, or similar)
