GPR Truck Service and Repairs is an independent, family-owned repair workshop with over 35 years of service to the transport industry. Located in Welshpool, they provide services to a broad range of industries and work on an extensive variety of road transport equipment.
About the role
They require a qualified Heavy Duty Truck Technician to operate from their busy Welshpool workshop. You will be responsible for performing a range of service and repair work to customer's vehicles and related transport equipment.
The person we seek
You will have a sound knowledge of heavy diesel mechanics across various ages, makes and models of vehicles and equipment including trailers and dollies. You must be an organized, reliable and self-motivated person who can work both independently and as part of a team.
Duties and responsibilities include:
1. Carry out scheduled service and repairs to customers' vehicles in the company workshop as required
2. Liaise with Service Manager and other company personnel to ensure a continued flow of information from job start to job completion
3. Diagnose faults and test drive vehicles as required to ensure vehicles are completed and faults corrected to the customers' satisfaction.
4. Ensure job cards and related paperwork is completed and processed according to company policy.
Essential attributes, skills and experience
1. Fully Qualified Mechanic in Heavy Duty Road Transport Equipment
2. Reliable team player with strong work ethic
3. Customer focused with good communication skills
4. Preferably with HR / HC Driving License
5. Safety first approach
6. Be able to "think out of the box" to provide positive outcomes.
7. Detail orientated and good with paperwork and record keeping
Desirable attributes, skills and experience
1. Experience in a field service role in the Transport Industry.
2. First Aid Certificate (preferred)
3. Training in Computer Diagnostic equipment.
4. Experience in a broad range of road transport equipment.
5. Hydraulic and Electrical knowledge.
