The Opportunity The primary focus of the Occupational Hygiene and Hazardous Materials team is to protect workers’ health and provide guidance to clients in meeting their health, safety, and legislative requirements regarding the workplace, and occupational exposure. As a Principal Consultant your focus will be on developing and managing client relationships and providing technical expertise. As part of the management team you will be expected to be involved in strategic planning and mentoring, with the possibility of people management responsibilities.

What You’ll Do
Focus on business development, project delivery and client relationship management
Assist with technical development and strategy for growth as part of the leadership team
Nurture client relationships to expand regional business opportunities
Manage occupational health risk assessments for hazards including silica, noise, chemical exposures, vibration, lead, asbestos, biological hazards, and indoor air quality
Manage hazardous materials assessment projects including Division 5 and 6
Design effective strategies for hazard remediation and prevention management
Assess health risks and provide expert advice with support from senior technical specialists and Certified Occupational Hygienists (COH)
Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams in acoustics, contaminated land, engineering and fire safety
Produce and review technical reports to a high standard, including technical peer review of reports
Engage in strong professional development, with opportunities to be mentored by Certified Occupational Hygienists and senior executives
About You You are likely to have 10+ years of experience in the assessment and remediation of hazardous material and/or measuring and assessing workplace hazards, including chemical, physical, ergonomic, and biological hazards.
You Will Ideally Bring The Following
Previous consultancy experience is required
Business development experience, including development of winning proposals and building ongoing client relationships
Good understanding of the project life cycle while maintaining high standards of service delivery
Confidence to communicate hazards and risks with clients, from the boardroom to the field
Experience in analysing complex results and datasets, and writing technical reports
Strong knowledge of work health and safety regulations, or health risk assessment
High attention to detail and responsiveness to clients’ needs
Australian Driver’s License
Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Hygiene, Health or Environmental Science
Asbestos assessors licence preferred
