A Ship Design Engineer is required to join a dynamic team in Melbourne, VIC. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing vessels from concept to delivery, including local and global structure, equipment foundations, hydrostatic and stability calculations, resistance, and powering calculations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design vessels, incorporating local and global structural elements, equipment foundations, and associated calculations.
* Prepare detailed design packages, including calculations and reports.
* Ensure compliance with relevant technical requirements, including regulatory standards and Austal's safety protocols.
* Collaborate with the production team to provide design support throughout the vessel's lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Naval Architecture or a related field, possess excellent communication skills, and have at least 5 years' experience in ship design and construction.
