About you
We are looking for a proactive and passionate Legal Assistant with outstanding interpersonal and organisational skills to this role. You will be motivated to take ownership of your next role and build long-term relationships with your key operators.
A strong work ethic and attention to detail, the ability to manage conflicting priorities, a genuine interest in Employment law and the ability to keep on top of deadlines are some of the key qualities we are looking for, in addition to sound Microsoft Office and general IT skills.
Your role
Supporting multiple partners, this is a great opportunity for someone looking to continue to develop their legal administrative skills. This role is part of a fun, growing, fast-paced and supportive team, and there will be other legal assistants to lean on for extra support within the Brisbane office, and across other sites nationally.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Research
* Attending client meetings, taking minutes and drafting file notes
* Opening new files
* Diary management
* Assisting with business development and networking opportunities
* Collating documents and preparing briefs
* Document and correspondence preparation, including court documents
* Monthly billing
* Liaising with clients
* Other general administrative duties and support as required
This role requires excellent professional written and oral communication skills, and the successful candidate must have confidence in dealing with clients, colleagues and people across the legal profession in an engaging and friendly manner. In addition, applicants must demonstrate strong organisational and time management skills, and the ability to complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
This role would suit someone who is currently in the first or second year of their legal studies.
