Science Space is the University of Wollongong's flagship public science facility, located at the Innovation Campus. With interactive exhibits, a cutting-edge planetarium, a science theatre, and immersive STEM programs, Science Space inspires curiosity and learning across all ages. Operating daily, it serves as a vibrant hub for science education and outreach, hosting school groups, families, and community events that bring science to life.
The Customer Service Weekend Team Leader works on Saturdays and Sundays and is responsible for ensuring visitors and staff safety and positive experience during operational hours. They oversee opening and closing of UOW Science Space, conduct daily staff briefings, allocation of staff to account for visitor experience priorities, and the implementation of all relevant policies, procedures and protocols. The Weekend Team Leader works alongside the Weekend Customer Service Admin, Science Partners & Science Space Ambassadors to provide an exceptional visitor experience for all weekend visitors. They are responsible for documenting incidents, hazards and clearly communicating these to the Science Space Customer Service & Operations Coordinator to ensure appropriate follow up actions where required (e.g. communication with staff or visitors.)
