Raytheon Australia: Modernising Air Defence Air Traffic Systems. Raytheon Australia, a trusted partner in Australia's Defence capabilities for over 20 years, is leading the modernisation of critical air traffic management systems that provide military and civilian air traffic control capabilities for the RAAF. We are seeking a System & Cyber Security Specialist to join our team, working on critical capability assurance programs involved in essential system upgrades, addressing obsolescence challenges, and enhancing cyber security posture across complex, multi-classification environments.

As a System & Cyber Security Specialist, you will assist with system & cyber security activities across this nationally important modernisation program. Working within our experienced engineering delivery team, you will assist all aspects of system & cyber security from initial threat assessment through to operational security assessments and authorisations. You will support compliance with the latest Defence, Australian Government and industry security frameworks and standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist with security assessment and authorization activities, including preparation of documentation under supervision.
* Prepare and maintain cybersecurity artefacts (e.g., SSP, SSP‐A, SRMP, CMP) as directed. Support development of assessment and authorization materials.
* Assist in implementing security controls and reviewing system changes for compliance under guidance.
* Help identify security risks and compliance gaps. Support risk assessments and contribute to mitigation activities.
* Monitor security alerts, log incidents, and elevate issues to senior staff. Assist with forensic evidence collection under supervision.
* Work closely with senior specialists and engineering teams to support program security objectives.
* Prioritise and resolve security incidents, conduct forensic investigations, and support the production of forensic reports.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Essential

* Certifications in cyber security or related IT field (e.g., CompTIA, ISACA, ISC2, Microsoft etc).

Desirable

* A university degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Security or related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
* Cyber Security Certifications (e.g., ISSP, CISM, CRISC, Sec+, GSEC, CEH).
* Exposure to security tools, vulnerability scanning, or incident response.
* Familiarity with Defence and Australian Government security frameworks (ISM, DSPF, PSPF).
* Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security clearance as needed. Eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva.
