This allows our inmates/transferees to feel heard, appreciated and treated with the utmost respect and in a culturally appropriate way. Our aim is to improve relationships and reduce stressors for inmates/transferees, so they feel cared for.

We are seeking a capable and motivated HR Coordinator to support the team at Parklea Correctional Centre

The HR Coordinator act**as the first point of contact for HR-related queries from employees, external stakeholders as required. Working with strong leaders who are passionate about building workplaces with strong cultures and high performing, engaged workforces.

**The following key responsibilities are provided as a general guide in relation to the requirements and objectives of this position, including but not limited to**:

- Support the Senior HR Business Partner in executing HR processes across the employee life cycle
- Support employee onboarding including appropriate administration
- Support and respond to general HR queries, escalating where required
- Ensure accuracy in maintaining employee records and promptly facilitate employee changes through the appropriate mechanism
- Support the development and rollout of internal communications, training, and policies
- Maintain HRIS records and generate reports
- Act as the first point of contact for employees and managers to resolve low-level inquiries and issues
- Support the Senior HR Business Partner in completing all compliance records and reports for training delivered through TSS
- Provide system support and troubleshooting for staff and managers
- Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events etc.
- produce and submit reports on general HR activity
- Assist in ad-hoc HR projects, like collection of employee feedback

- Create and keep full and accurate records of work-related activities, transactions, and decisions
- Carry out all duties in line with MTC Australia's policies and procedures as amended from time to time
- Ensure that safety and risk awareness are paramount when undertaking all duties

**Skills & Experience**:
**The following key experiences and skills are desirable in relation to this position and would include but not be limited to**:

- Experience in performing administrative tasks within an HR function
- Knowledge and understanding of employment law including the Fair Work Act, contemporary awards and enterprise agreements.
- Knowledge or experience using learning management systems, e-recruit systems and HRIS
- Ability to work autonomously, meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish relationships with a wide range of stakeholder
- Highly organised with effective time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to visit and work within a correctional or regional processing centre

**Desirable qualifications**:

- Qualifications in human resources (desirable not essential)
- 1-2
