Overview
Join the dedicated Cancer Services team at the Macarthur Cancer Therapy Centre (MCTC), Campbelltown Hospital, and act as the key Pharmacy point of contact for the oncology and haematology clinical service. You will support complex medication management, optimise therapeutic outcomes and contribute to high‐quality, patient‐centred care in a collaborative, forward‐thinking environment.
Responsibilities
* Act as the Pharmacy point of contact for the clinical service, advising multidisciplinary teams on complex medication management.
* Review and approve medication orders, policies and guidelines for haematology, oncology and palliative care settings.
* Supervise and support pharmacy staff within the specialty field, promoting professional development and patient safety.
* Participate in clinical audits, quality assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Maintain accurate and detailed medication records and documentation.
* Provide patient counselling and medication education where appropriate.
Qualifications
* Full pharmacist registration with AHPRA with no restrictions to the scope of practice.
* Minimum of 12 months' experience as a clinical pharmacist in cancer care services.
* Strong clinical knowledge of haematology and oncology medication therapy.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, capable of interacting with all levels of hospital staff and patients.
* Demonstrated judgement, independence in problem‐solving and high attention to detail.
* Experience in developing or reviewing medication policies and guidelines.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
* Proven organisational and time‐management skills, able to prioritise tasks.
* Experience contributing to quality assurance activities.
* Interest in patient counselling and a patient‐focused approach.
