Bottlejac Trading - Mirambee Feedlot is seeking an experienced, hands-on Feedlot Manager who is passionate about all areas of feedlotting including livestock husbandry, feeding, commodity management, people leadership, maintenance and compliance.
Mirambee Feedlot is a family owned 3,000hd NFAS Accredited Feedlot & backgrounding operation situated 10km from Dubbo NSW, forming part of our broader operations. Our vision is to be a sustainable beef production system producing beef for various domestic and export markets. We value and respect our people, animals and safety.
The Role
You will lead an established team of 6 and be actively involved with:
* Operational Workflows – planning, coordinating and executing daily tasks and projects for efficiency
* Livestock Operations – oversee and build the teams capability with daily health checks, husbandry and processing of cattle, with animal welfare and performance at the forefront of all activities
* Feeding – monitor intake, ensure milling and feeding is accurate and timely to optimise animal performance
* Commodity Management – negotiate and coordinate commodity Contracts for two separate feedlots
* Maintenance – oversee planned and unplanned feedlot projects, repairs, pen cleaning and manure processing
* Compliance – ensure safety is understood and procedures are followed, oversee NFAS and EPA compliance (on the job training provided), maintain accurate records in Elynx system for all feedlot and compliance activities.
