Your next career opportunity

As an Online Educator at the University of Melbourne, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of the Master of Youth Mental Health. You will be responsible for facilitating engaging learning activities, providing empathetic student support, and ensuring the highest standards in assessment. This role allows you to work flexibly and remotely, fitting around your other commitments, while contributing to the improvement of teaching practices and student outcomes in a supportive, innovative environment.


Your responsibilities will include

* Facilitating Engaging Learning: Deliver academic content and support student learning in youth mental health.

* Conducting Student Assessments: Assess student coursework, provide feedback, and submit results promptly.

* Professional Development: Engage in ongoing educational development to enhance teaching practices.

* Collaborating with Teams: Work closely with course and subject coordinators and contribute to course improvement.


You may be a great fit if

You are an experienced educator with a passion for youth mental health, equipped to deliver engaging online courses and support students' learning journeys within a flexible, remote working environment.


You should also:

* Hold a Master's degree in a relevant discipline or be progressing towards a PhD.

* Have experience teaching mental health topics to professionals or at a university level.

* Be experienced in formal assessment and providing constructive feedback.

* Possess excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit.

* Demonstrate a youth-friendly, optimistic approach with a commitment to positive change.

About Melbourne Online and the Masters of Youth Mental Health
Melbourne Online is located in the Office of the Provost and aims to educate a broader and more diverse student population while enhancing the university's digital capabilities in online teaching and learning. University of Melbourne Online provides students with a flexible and dynamic learning environment using a six week, six term a year model, designed to fit around the needs of post graduate students. Our six-week study periods, with predictable assessment dates, allow students to plan and balance their studies alongside other commitments. The University of Melbourne Online model offers students flexibility and control over how they approach their studies.


The Master of Youth Mental Health has been developed by the University of Melbourne's Centre for Youth Mental Health in collaboration with Orygen, a global leader in youth mental health research and knowledge translation, to strengthen the capacity of the youth mental health workforce both nationally and internationally. The course is designed for education and health professionals working in a range of clinical and community contexts and draws on contributions by world-leading experts in the field to provide students with the latest theory, research and evidence-based approaches in this specialised area of mental health. In the final year of the program, students will also have the opportunity to complete a substantial capstone experience and independent research project.
