We specialise in the design and construction of prototype vehicles, as well as upgrading existing platforms to meet the evolving requirements.About The RoleRheinmetall Defence Australia (RDA) is offering a unique opportunity for a skilled Fitter and Turner/Machinist to join our Prototype Department at MILVECOE. This critical role supports the development, maintenance, and repair of RDA’s test vehicle fleet, playing an integral part in our Design Test (DT) and Verification and Validation (V&V) programs across all RDA projects.The role requires occasional travel to various customer and Rheinmetall sites within Australia and Overseas.The general and generic duties of the Fitter & Turner – Machinist include, but are not limited to: Fabricate, modify, and repair components to RDA standards, supporting prototype builds, and vehicle maintenance; Cutting, drilling, welding & grinding of various materials to complete tasks in the estimated time frame; Undertake technical investigations associated with field and or engineering faults; Conduct self and work in accordance with company and site specific WH&S requirements; and Fulfil other duties and responsibilities that may be required as determined with Area Manager from time to time.
