Role: Senior Technical Specialist – Identity and Access Management (IDAM)Location: Geelong (3 days on site, 2 days wfh)Duration: 6 month contract + potential extensionsHours: Full time
This client is a Victorian state government organisation and is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Specialist to join their Program Delivery Team. This position is ideal for professionals looking to contribute their expertise to critical identity and access management initiatives within a reputable organisation.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical leadership and strategic direction to specialists and system analysts working on IDAM solutions.
* Lead the design, development, implementation, and refinement of identity and access management (IDAM) solutions across various organisational and community contexts.
* Ensure integrated, secure, and highly available IDAM services aligned with current standards and industry best practices.
* Develop documentation supporting the ongoing support, maintenance, and development of IDAM applications and services.
* Participate in troubleshooting activities to restore critical business services reliant on IDAM technologies.
* Contribute to project scoping, effort estimation, and design reviews, ensuring solutions are fit-for-purpose and efficient.
* Apply comprehensive knowledge of IDAM principles such as RBAC, MFA, conditional access policies, and PAM.
* Collaborate effectively with internal teams and trusted third parties, considering technical and non-technical constraints.
Requirements
* Relevant tertiary qualifications or industry certifications related to identity and access management.
* Familiarity and experience working with IDAM specific components of control frameworks such as NIST and ISO.
* Extensive knowledge of contemporary IDAM solutions, including directories and access management services.
* Proven experience with tools such as NetIQ Identity Manager, NetIQ Access Manager, One Identity, Okta, or Entra/Azure AD.
* Strong scripting skills, with experience in PowerShell, LDIF, or bulk user manipulation.
* Familiarity with privileged access management tools like CyberArk or Entra PIM.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, work accurately, and meet deadlines.
* Knowledge of ITIL principles and frameworks is desirable.
