The Role
The City of Port Lincoln is seeking a Civil Operations Employee to perform the maintenance and construction of Council assets. Reporting to the Supervisor Civil Operations and/or the Manager Civil Assets and Operations, this role ensures our infrastructure meets Council standards. A secondary aspect of the position involves providing operational assistance to the Open Spaces team when required.
Key Objectives Include
Assist in the construction and maintenance of Council infrastructure including:General civil groundworkLine marking, street signage and furniture installationsInstallation of bollards & fencingCleaning & patching drainage pitsBasic concreting or asphaltingPothole repairs and general labouringUndertake other general manual tasks using hand tools and operate small plant items, for the minor construction and/or maintenance works as directed.Footpath and road verge maintenance and repairsMaintenance of coastal assets such as jetties and boat rampsPainting and varnishing, rubbish removal, graffiti removal and general cleaningSupport the Open Spaces team when required with mowing, pruning and weed control or other tasks as directedDiagnose and complete repairs on plant and equipment Work collaboratively with contractors and service providers Assist with inspections, preventative maintenance and parts identification/receipt within required timeframesActively participating in training and WHS programs as required. Following all WHS instructions, policies, procedures, processes and in maintaining all Council Plant and Equipment as required

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
An articulated loader ticketA backhoe/excavator ticket (or willingness to obtain)A Class MR driver’s licenceDemonstrated experience operating and maintaining plant and equipmentA Work Zone Traffic Management ticketYou will take direction well, enjoy learning, and thrive as part of a team.
