The Opportunity
We're seeking an Associate Professor of Psychology to play a key role in the continued growth of our psychology programs at UniSC's Moreton Bay campus. In this role, you'll contribute your leadership and expertise to strengthen teaching and research across the discipline, while helping shape student experiences and support academic development within the team.
You'll bring a strong research track record, a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, and the ability to foster meaningful collaborations, both within the university and with the broader community. You'll also support the ongoing development and accreditation of psychology programs and contribute to building a vibrant academic environment at our Moreton Bay campus.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and contribute to high-quality research in psychology, including securing external funding and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
2. Deliver engaging, evidence-based teaching across undergraduate and/or postgraduate psychology programs.
3. Supervise and mentor Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students and early-career academics.
4. Contribute to curriculum design and continuous improvement of program content and delivery.
5. Engage with professional, industry, and community partners to enhance the relevance and impact of the School's activities.
6. Support academic leadership and participate in School and University governance and planning.
About You
You are an experienced academic with a strong foundation in teaching and research in psychology. You have a passion for student learning, a collaborative approach, and an interest in contributing to the development of a growing campus and academic team.
You will bring:
1. A doctoral qualification in psychology, and relevant academic and research experience.
2. A track record of research outputs, with success in attracting competitive research funding.
3. Demonstrated excellence in learning and teaching, including curriculum design and innovation.
4. Experience supervising HDR students and contributing to a collegial academic culture.
5. A commitment to engaging with diverse communities and fostering inclusive learning environments.
