Moriah College is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment, takes pride in delivering accurate work, and is passionate about improving processes.
Reporting to our Finance Manager, you will play a key role in managing the College's accounts payable function while supporting a range of accounting and administrative activities across the Finance department.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
* Process supplier invoices and prepare weekly payment runs
* Manage supplier onboarding and verification processes
* Take ownership of the accounts payable inbox, ensuring timely responses and resolution of queries
* Liaise with suppliers to resolve account discrepancies and payment enquiries
* Complete corporate credit card reconciliations and follow up outstanding items
* Process staff reimbursement claims accurately and efficiently
Finance Team Support
* Assist with month-end reporting, including:
o Management reporting preparation
o Actual versus budget analysis
o Balance sheet reconciliations
* Support year-end activities, including:
o Budget preparation
o Audit coordination and documentation
o Financial reporting requirements
* Contribute to finance process improvements and system enhancement project
* Provide general administrative support to the Finance team as required
Experience Required
You are a motivated finance professional who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys working as part of a supportive team. You bring a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in a finance or accounting role, including accounts payable and receivable responsibilities
* Strong systems capability and confidence working across multiple finance platforms
* Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including functions such as Pivot Tables and X/Vlookups to summarise data
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* The ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously when required
* A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for process and system improvements
