**Our journey**
The **Victorian Heart Hospital** will be Australia's first dedicated heart hospital and is nearing its final stages of construction. It will include a full range of ambulatory and inpatient cardiac care, including cardiac theatres, cardiac catheterisation laboratories and ambulatory services such as cardiac CT, echocardiography and specialist consultation. It will also feature a unique, patient centred model of care. The Victorian Heart Hospital will also play a key role in advancing research and teaching and will be home to the Victorian Heart Institute, a brand new, health and medical research organisation at Monash University.

This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding hospital pharmacy technician to join our pharmacy team in a full time, permanent role to manage and collaboratively develop the pharmacy technician services at the Victorian Heart Hospital and across the Monash Health network.
**A day in the life**

As the **Victorian Heart Hospital** Pharmacy Distribution Technician Team Leader, you will work closely with the broader Victorian Heart Hospital Pharmacy team to provide best practice medication management and pharmacy services to patients, carers, clients and health care professionals.
You will lead the pharmacy technician/support staff team at the heart hospital, ensuring the pursuit of excellence and performance improvement in quality and safety, patient outcomes, patient satisfaction and employee engagement. You will provide oversight, support and performance enhancement for pharmacy technicians and porters allocated to the VHH, and assist with technician management and support at other sites as required.

**Full time Ongoing positions are an 8-hour shift per day, Monday to Friday.** Our full-time employees accrue a day off every four weeks. The successful person will be required to work some late shifts and weekends/public holidays.
**What you bring**
Working closely with the Distribution & Medicine Supply Team Leader Pharmacist and the Assistant Deputy Director of Pharmacy - **Victorian Heart Hospital**, you will bring you will bring the following experience and knowledge to the role (italics indicates desirable):
- Demonstrated proven full-time experience as a qualified hospital pharmacy technician
- Completed Certificate IV in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support, or equivalent
- Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and accountability across all general technician tasks (dispensing, inpatient supply, imprest, Schedule 8/4D supply)
- _ Ability to work in specialised areas such as PBS management, pharmaceutical purchasing and compounding_
- Management experience in areas such as rostering, professional development and performance enhancement
- Experience or education in supervision, training and mentoring of other pharmacy technicians
- Australian working rights
