ABOUT THE ROLE
Medical Officers are responsible for conducting professional, high quality and efficient medical services including Entry Level Medical Assessments (ELME) and Medical Attestation Examinations (MAE) to Candidates applying for a role in the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
Part-Time, Casual (as required) and Contractor (Service Provider) options are available. Locations include:
1. NSW - Albury, Coffs Harbour, Orange
2. QLD - Mount Isa, Gladstone, Cairns, Maroochydoore
3. VIC - Bendigo
4. WA - Rockingham, Karratha
DUTIES
The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
5. Reviewing preliminaries including testing for all specialist roles
6. Conducting MHQ reviews, ELMEs, MAEs
7. Reviewing previous MHQs, ELMEs and any relevant medical and psychological reports
8. Reviewing Unit Medical Records (UMR) and reports (mandatory and discretionary) relevant for determining the recruiting medical classification (MRC), medical employment classification restrictions (MEC) and/or fitness for enlistment.
9. Providing referral letters
10. Reviewing blood borne virus pathology results
11. Submitting medical suitability requests
12. Providing determination of MRC and MEC, and restrictions
13. Undertaking ‘migrations’ when required in instances where the Candidate changes role preferences and the MRC/MEC need to be reviewed
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
As the successful candidate, you will have current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Medical Practitioner together with the following:
14. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
15. Ability to navigate electronic health records/systems and other relevant ICT systems
16. Minimum 5 years’ broad medical experience in a health system comparable to Australia
17. Current Working With Children Check (or state equivalent)
18. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAD009) certification
19. National Police Clearance issued within the last 3 months
